Code of Conduct

How we keep WeyFurs safe, welcoming, and fun

Last updated: March 2026 • By attending any WeyFurs event you agree to these rules.

WeyFurs events are private community gatherings. We want everyone to have a great time in a safe, inclusive space. These rules exist to protect attendees, our relationship with venues, and the future of the community. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.

Zero Tolerance: Immediate Permanent Ban

Violations below result in an immediate and permanent ban with no appeal process.

  • Any form of physical aggression, assault, threats of violence, or harassment towards staff, attendees, or venue personnel.
  • Sexual misconduct, inappropriate touching, or behaviour of a sexual nature directed at another person without clear consent.
  • Possession, use, or supply of illegal substances. We will contact the police.
  • Bringing anyone under the age of 18 to a WeyFurs event.
  • Displaying symbols, clothing, or materials associated with hate groups or unconstitutional organisations.

Warnings and Suspension

These issues are handled with warnings first. At 3 warnings, an attendee will normally receive a temporary suspension (typically 1-3 events).

  • Bringing food not purchased at the venue. First incident: verbal warning. Medical or dietary exceptions must be pre-approved by WeyFurs staff.
  • Consuming alcohol not purchased at the venue, at or within a reasonable distance of the venue. First incident: verbal warning and disposal.
  • Consuming energy drinks or soft drinks (excluding bottled water) not purchased at the venue. First incident: verbal warning.
  • Littering or deliberately damaging venue property. Littering may result in suspension.
  • Repeatedly ignoring or arguing with staff instructions after a warning. This will count as additional warnings.
  • Public intoxication causing disturbance or distress to other attendees.
  • Photographing attendees without their explicit consent.
  • Attempting to bring someone under 18 to an event, even without success.

Age & Identification

WeyFurs events are strictly 18+. No exceptions.

  • The minimum attendance age is 18+, including those accompanied by adults. This is non-negotiable.
  • Valid photo ID may be requested at any time by staff or venue security. Failure to present it when asked may result in ejection.
  • Accepted ID: current passport, photo driving licence, or PASS-accredited card (e.g. CitizenCard).

General Conduct

Baseline expectations for all attendees at every event.

  • Treat all attendees, staff, and venue personnel with respect and decency.
  • Drink responsibly and know your limits.
  • No fetish wear in public spaces. Collars are acceptable; leashes, harnesses, and other BDSM-related equipment are not.
  • Do not bring weapons or items that could reasonably be construed as a weapon onto the premises.
  • Political paraphernalia has no place at the meet.
  • Keep music players and personal devices at a volume that does not disturb others.
  • Follow all venue rules and comply with reasonable requests from venue staff at all times.
  • Commercial photography at events is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from WeyFurs organisers.

Hygiene and Comfort

Good hygiene helps keep meets comfortable and accessible for everyone.

  • Please arrive clean, in fresh clothing, and use deodorant where appropriate.
  • If you are wearing costume parts, keep them clean and dry. Fursuiting gets warm quickly, so plan for breaks and hydration.
  • Avoid strong lingering odours, including heavy fragrance sprays, as these can trigger discomfort for other attendees.
  • If hygiene becomes a welfare concern at an event, staff may ask you to freshen up before rejoining the group.
  • If you are currently unwell with flu-like or contagious symptoms, please skip the meet and join us next time.

Fursuits at WeyFurs

Rules specific to attendees in costume.

  • Please check the event details to see what type of fursuit is permitted. Fullsuiting isn't permitted within certain venues.
  • Suits must be appropriate for a public social environment. No overtly sexual or offensive costumes.
  • Costume adjustment areas (where available) are for attendees adjusting costume parts and their helpers only. No spectators, no photography inside the area.
  • No food or drink (except bottled water) in changing areas.
  • Never touch another person's fursuit without explicit permission.
  • If you require a handler, it is your responsibility to arrange this. WeyFurs staff cannot act as personal handlers.

Reporting Concerns

You don't have to handle problems alone.

  • If you feel unsafe or witness a rule violation at an event, speak to a WeyFurs staff member immediately. Staff wear identifiable lanyards/badges.
  • We take all reports seriously. Wherever possible, reports are kept confidential.
  • For after-event concerns, use our contact page.
  • We will not be drawn into personal disputes between community members. Reports should concern behaviour that directly violates these rules.
  • If you believe illegal activity has taken place, please also report it to the police.
  • Harassment of WeyFurs volunteers will never be tolerated. We are all unpaid volunteers who give our time to this community.
